ARCUS Research 2025-2026 Winter & Short Call for Application

We are currently accepting an application for ARCU Research Winter & Short (2025-2026). ARCUS Research is a self-directed residency program that offers an uninterrupted time and contemplative environment for creative experimentation, in-depth fieldwork, and research. The program enables not only artists but also curators, researchers, writers, and practitioners in the cultural field to engage in creative discourses and activities. Located in an hour from Tokyo and close to Mt. Tsukuba, ARCUS Research provides a calm environment and working space where participants can reflect and unwind the creative process.

Program period

Short: December 5 — December 19, 2025

Winter: January 15 — February 13, 2026

Program Fee 

JPY150,000 for Short. JPY270,000 for Winter. The program fee includes studio space, accommodation, and basic consultation and orientation at the beginning of the residency program. Additional support such as interpretation, translation, and coordination for research or a project is available for a fee.
