In this special program, which invites guest artist to ARCUS Studio, Takuro Osaka is invited to do a light up project. The studio building will be transformed into an artwork entitled TEXTURE after dark.

Biography
Born in Tokyo in 1948. MA from the National University of Fine Arts and Music in 1975. Director of light art studio, STUDIO PHOTON in Tokyo and Professor at University of Tsukuba. Group exhibitions include “Electra” (Musée d’Art Modern de la Ville de Paris, 1983), “New Tools & New Images” (Museum Van Hedendaagse Kunst Antwerpen, 1989), and others at Kitakyushu Municipal Museum of Art, Chiba City Museum of Art, The Museum of Modern Art Saitama. Solo shows in Tokyo, Seoul, and Brussels. Working on “Cosmic Ray Series” since 1995, in which cosmic rays are captured and transformed into blue LED. Also works with sun and moonlight, including the Luna Project (Echigo Tsumari Art Triennial, 2000). Working with NASDA (National Space Development Agency of Japan) since 2001 on a project on outer space. As pioneer of light art, works in broad contexts, including architecture and public spaces. Osaka is invited to ARCUS to do a light up project that will feature the unique texture of the school building and grounds of ARCUS Studio.
